Enrique Bunbury in Concert
Filed Under Musicians | 2 Comments

I’m SO freaking excited… Enrique Bunbury is coming to my town and I bought my tickets yesterday, like I’ve said before he’s one of my favorite solo artists, he’s AMAZING. The concert is in November so I still have a whole month to wait, but AGHHH I’M EXCITED !!!
Not long ago, I was telling a friend that I had already seen all my favorite Mexican artists and bands live and she asked me:
Dina: But what about Bunbury?
Me: He’s Spanish not Mexican
Dina: Whatever, he sings in Spanish
Me: Oh well, it’s kind of impossible for him to come to Merida, so I don’t think I’ll ever see him live.
HOW WRONG WAS I??? I never thought he’d come to Merida because he’s the kind of artist that sings for big stadiums and have big shows and stuff, and those artists normally go to Mexico City to the biggest baseball stadium, but na-ha, he’s coming to my city and I still can’t believe it. When I read about it on the net I thought my eyes were playing tricks to me, and was literally in shock, but now that I got my tickets everything’s so much real.
I get this funny and ticklish feeling in the stomach every time I think “I’m going to see him live, I’m going to sing along to his songs” aghhh… it’s… just… CRAZY. Just a few people really knows how much I love this man, other people are taken by surprise with my sudden excitement, but the truth is I’ve loved this man for a couple of years, have LOTS of his songs on my computer and I’m always watching his videos when I feel like it, but the idea of seeing him live never crossed my mind because I thought it was impossible, and now that not only I think it’s possible but it’s also going to happen, I’M ANNOYING the hell out of everyone I know because I can’t stop talking about him hahaha.
And now that the concert is near, I’m listening to his music even more than I normally do (which is always a LOT, so now it’s obsessive haha) and watching his interviews, and like I always do, I always love artists that has personalities like my own, so I really like his way of thinking and his answers in interviews, and I love the way he talks, his Spanish accent is marvelous
I’m so freaking in love right now hahaha.

When I first saw the trailer for this movie a long long time ago I thought “Pff… my best friend’s wedding all mixed up” and thought I wouldn’t like it, but you know what? I loved it. It’s really sweet and I’ve always liked Patrick Dempsey since I saw him in Grey’s Anatomy and Enchanted, he’s soooo cute (and I just remember watching him on a really OLD movie where he was a geek xD) anyway, the movie is all about a friendship turning into love and how he fights for the girl, or like his friends called it “Steal the bride” haha. It’s also really funny. I totally loved it… can’t say anything else more than if you like romantic movies you’re gonna love this one.

James Dean
Filed Under Actors, Videos | 2 Comments

Dear Jimmy,
You died exactly 30 years before I was even born, on the 30th of this month you’ll be dead for 54 years, you’d be 78 years today, probably a grandfather if you ever let your fear behind of letting people get close to you. You had a whole life ahead of you, you already had three successful movies (on the lead role, way to go) and were getting a name, all of a sudden all girls wanted you, and with only three movies you proved how talented you were. I just simply can’t believe a boy my age died, it doesn’t matter if it was 54 years ago or if it was today, you died and it’s sad, you had so much more to do and one stupid day you decided to test your freaking brand new car and you died, that’s so not fucking fair it pisses me off. I wish you were here teaching nowadays actors how to be GOOD and REAL… there’s never going to be another JAMES DEAN!!!.
You all probably know by now that if I use the Dean on Chester Dean it’s because of this amazing kid that never got to be called a man because he was never old enough to be one. Like I said on one of the posts below, I don’t know why I have a special feeling for James Dean that I don’t have for anyone else, when I see his pictures I feel this nostalgia like if I knew him, or it simply saddens me, no matter the picture… it can be a funny silly one and it’s going to make me sad anyway.
He was an incredible actor with a really short number of movies, East Of Eden, Rebel Without A Cause and Giant, the three of them were awesome and he did a great job, in the last one he even played a grown man when he never really had the chance to be one himself and he was still believable. He died at the age of 24, my age exactly and I can’t believe it. Next year I’ll be older than he ever was and that’s freaking frustrating, he was just a kid.
For the people that doesn’t know, he died on a car crash and it was just a stupid mistake, a guy was supposed to turn on the left on a crossing street and didn’t see James’ car and crashed right on his side killing him.
Drive safety spot he did like a week before he died.
“You have to be extra cautious ’cause no one knows what they’re doing, you don’t know what this guy is gonna do” WHAT? Exactly what happened and he wasn’t even racing nor speeing. A guy just had to make a turn and didn’t see his car, and BAM!. According to the guy that was on Dean’s car, James last words were “That guy’s gotta stop… he’ll see us” but he freaking didn’t. And then, there’s James saying “Take it easy driving or the life you might save might be mine” isn’t that just freaking ironic? just a week or two before he died?.
And there’s people comparing actors like Brad Pitt or James Franco with James Dean, I’m not talking crap about these actors, but C’MON!!! No one’s gonna be the next Dean, no one can, there’s only one James Dean and he left too early. The only good thing about him dying young (if there’s anything good in it) is that people will always remember him that way and nothing will ruin him. For example, Marlon Brando was an INCREDIBLE actor, and what happened? Everyone just remembers that he got fat and weird. Elvis, an amazing singer that made everyone sing and dance, people just remembers when he was fat and pathetic and actually makes fun of him. I’m just glad no one makes fun of Jimmy, otherwise I’d kick some arses.
I need to watch his movies NOW !!!

When Fandoms Collide

I was working on chester-land.net and saw that Linkin Lady linked us in a post called “A look at Mike’s Art” so I was curious and saw that Jen commented this:
Mike has posted a virtual tour of his art show on his blog. It is great but of course nothing could be better than seeing it all in person.
I think I know ChesterDEAN‘s favorites!
So I went to see the gallery. I had already seen a portrait of John Lennon and thought “Oh Mikey, that’s why I love you” but he also has one of Kurt Cobain and one of James Dean.

This is Kurt’s picture, you can easily tell is Kurt but he’s still quite different, I don’t think he captured that nostalgia/sadness Kurt could express on his face sometimes, or his craziness.

Here’s my Johnny boy, he captured late 60’s John perfectly, and with his beloved Rickenbaker. I adored this picture.

But this is the one that impressed me the most. James Dean was captured completely here, that nostalgia, the pose, the face, the car. I’ve always known Mike Shinoda is a hell of a talented artist but this time he won my complete respect, he captured Dean better than probably anyone. Look at the eyes, the lips, the nose, it’s exactly like James, and the cigarette and the jacket, everything is just perfect.
And I don’t know why, every time I see a picture of James Dean I feel this sadness inside, he died a bajillion of years ago and still I feel the loss like if I knew him. I have this special feeling for him it’s crazy, I don’t know why I feel so related to him or why he’s so special to me. He makes my heart melt in every single way. I wish I was rich and I could buy that portrait, I’d hang it proudly in my room hehe.

A dedicated fan?

Well, I think I’ve let everyone know already that I don’t usually follow actors for too long, they are just a few actors I really like and Robert Downey Jr is one of them. I remember liking him when I was a kid but I didn’t follow his career until I saw him in Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang before I even saw Iron Man. It’s been almost a year and a half already, and I can’t believe I’ve already seen 26 of his movies, that’s a LOT specially coming from me, because if I can’t find them I download them, I usually buy the DVD’s, so… it’s a real hard work and I do it happily ’cause I love watching his movies. I saw In Dreams the other night and he keeps reminding me how much I love him, he’s amazing and a great actor. He won the title of “Favorite Actor” along with Ewan McGregor (and I’ve followed his career longer and haven’t seen as many movies) in only a year, isn’t that crazy?. Here’s the list of the movies I’ve seen of RDJ.

Tropic Thunder (2008)
The Incredible Hulk (2008)

Fire

I can’t thank Chester Bennington enough for all he’s done for me without even knowing. Back in 2005 when my heart was broken into million pieces by love for the first time he wrote Let Down, that song helped me a lot, at least it was a nice way to express what I was feeling with someone else’s words. When I felt my world going down the drain I remember sobbing to “I don’t want to be let down I don’t want to live my life again don’t want to be led down the same old road” and wanna know something? I did… I’m going through something completely different but it feels the exact same way…. like HELL!.
And what did Chester Bennington do this time? FIRE.
No need to hear your voice or see your face
To know that you are with me
No need to kiss your lips or hold your hand
To know that you can feel me
I know that you can feel meWhen I look to the stars
I know just where you are
You’re looking down upon meNo need to get locked up inside the past
I know it isn’t changing
No need to say goodbye or let you go
I know that you’ll be waiting
I know that you’ll be waitingWhen I look to the stars
I know just where you are
You’re looking down upon meOn the other side
On the other sideI’ve got to find the way
To keep my pain from burning
Down to the boneI’ve got to find the way
To keep my pain from burning
Down to the bone, down to the fireWhen I look to the stars
I know just where you are
You’re looking down upon me
And I seriously needed this song. I just can’t stop listening to it and the saddest thing is that it doesn’t really remind me of my actual situation but the old one (just been in love once, I always go back to that memory when I’m hurt) and GOD Chester’s voice is going to kill me, he sounds…. beautiful.
